I have been needing to blog for a while now, and I just haven't had the time getting around to it. And now it's the weekend so I'm going to try.
College has been quite the learning experience for me. It sounded so exciting and fun while I was living at home and now that I am here I'm not sure I would use the word "Fun" to describe it.
Thoughts and feelings, and things I have learned while being away.
1. When you miss a meal, it's your own fault. Mom & Dad won't be there to make sure you ate that day. And it's not going to get made itself. If you want to eat, it's up to you to get that handled.
2. I have never learned more things that I didn't want to know, until I met my roommates.
3. Sisters and Roommates are nothing the same. I always took my sisters for granted until I had to live with roommates.
4. When you leave home you think that you're going to meet friends, go on a lot of dates, and always be partying. -It's not this way at all, it's far less than that. I haven't hardly met anyone, I've been on one date, and I am at my apartment almost all day.
5. Living away from home strengthens your relationship with your parents.
6. High School was a breeze.
7. Sleeping is the best thing ever.
8. Homework takes 6 hours just to do each day.
9. Paying for everything on your own is the WORST thing ever, especially when you live on a budget.
10. When you see familiar faces on campus (people from highschool) you get so excited you about wet your pants because it's the only familiar face you know.
11. The weather is awful, it's freezing cold and I feel like it's winter time.
12. I count down the days until I get to come home next.
13. Leftovers- BEST.THING.EVER.
14. Sometimes your first set of roommates end up not working out, and you have to move somewhere new.. Somewhere where you don't know any of the girls and somewhere where you have a completely new ward. In this situation, sometimes you just have to have faith and hope for the best, and know that God has a reason for everything.
15. Not all people move up to college with good cooking skills, and may start your apartment on fire and have the fire department show up.
16. There will always be liars, it's their sin not yours.
17. I never knew there could be so many attractive boys.
18. Finding a job on a college campus, is not very likely. If you find one, you're EXTREMELY lucky.
19. You think you have it all figured out, you think that you know how the next four years of your life will go until you get to that point in your life and you don't even know what the next day even holds for you.
20. I've learned more about the gospel at this campus than I have ever learned anywhere else. Opening with a prayer in each class everyday makes a huge difference on how your day will go the remainder of the week.
